After trading Haliburten for Sabonis it's very clear the Kings are desperate to make the playoffs this year. With Halibuten and Buddy gone, the Kings are due for an upgrade at SG and Eric Gordon is a great fit. Kings trade Bagley who they have already stated is all but gone already as well as Harkless to make money work and a top 10 protected FRP this year. If they fail to make the playoffs the Rockets get an extra pick as long as it falls outside the top 10. The Kings are a game out of the playoffs but given the Blazers gutting their roster this should be a close race between the Kings and Pels to see who gets the last play in spot and the Rockets might end up with a second lottery pick. The Kings might want that pick to be lottery protected but the Rockets have been trying to get a pick around the low teens or equivalent value like the Suns FRP and Jalen Smith for example. Therefore, I think Top 10 would be the strictest protection they would allow the Kings to place on the pick and might even push for Top 5 protected or even Unprotected due to how desperate the Kings are
