Reports on the Kings suggest two things. 1) The Kings are done with Bagley and want to move him as soon as possible and 2) That they are desperate to make the playoffs as soon as possible Christian Wood is a borderline allstar averaging nearly 20 and 10 and would be a huge upgrade for the Kings without needing to give up any valuable pieces. They also get Armoni Brooks to add more shooting around Fox. The Kings are only really giving up their 2022 FRP and while they are currently sitting as the 13th seed in the West, the West is very weak this year and they are only a game out of the Play In Tournament. If the Kings fail and miss the playoffs again the Top 5 Protection ensures they aren't giving up a top prospect in this trade and Christian Wood should push them at least to the Play In and is a great fit with Fox givin his ability to space the floor. The Rockets take a flier on Bagley and can test his fit with Alperen Sengun before he become a free agent. If he is a fit, the Rockets will have his bird rights and can resign him to play next to Sengun and add to their great young core. Given the King's history, they also might end up with another lottery pick to further add to their core, or facilitate a trade up should they get unlucky and drop out of the top 3 draft spaces.
