DRAFT
Select F/C Chris Cenac Jr with the 22nd overall pick
Expected 1st year salary: $3,597,840
It appears that Cenac will be available at our pick. He checks a lot of the boxes the Sixers are looking to fill. Solid defender, capable jumper, good size. I think he’ll be a good fit next to Embiid, and more importantly, Bona off the bench.
OPTIONS
Accept Dominick Barlow’s Team Option ($3,415,000)
Accept Trendon Watford’s Team Option ($2,801,346)
Decline Dalen Terry’s Team Option ($2,584,539)
FREE AGENCY
Resign C Andre Drummond to a 2 year, $8M contract (year 1 - $3,846,154, year 2 - $4,153,846)
Sign G/F Keon Ellis to a 3 year, $21M contract with a 3rd year PO (year 1 - $7M, year 2 - $7M, year 3 - $7M)
Sign G Gabe Vincent to the veteran minimum ($2,450,000 cap hit, $3,507,488 actual value)
While the moves are minor, each is pivotal. The group of free agent centers is very top heavy, leaving few reliable defensive backups. Drummond returns on a team friendly deal, preparing to shoulder the absence of Joel Embiid many nights. Originally, I thought Mitchell Robinson on the FMLE was the move, but between his history with Joel, and Sixers’ need for a solid backup guard, Mitch was not the move. Keon Ellis and Gabe Vincent fill out the backup backcourt. Ellis’ production has declined since leaving Sacramento. Philly offers him a generous prove-it deal that also out-prices the Cavs. And for Gabe Vincent… I don’t know man we need a guy with experience that can pass a little.

EXPLANATION
To be honest, there is really nothing my team can do bro. The albatross contracts of Embiid and PG doom us. And with Free Agency grievances said above, the list of players we could sign just gets shorter. With these moves, the Sixers have the flexibility to trade for a MLE caliber player during the season, while upgrading our guards from the end of last season. With an offseason like this, I expect Philly to finish as a Play-In team. VJ's development and Joel and PG's health are the biggest things to watch throughout the season. Saying both are good, this team has a chance against anyone. We proved that against the Celtics these Playoffs.
