He makes up for being undersized with athleticism and switch ability. No jumpshot and relies a lot on post ups. Not a lot of guys like him in the NBA and his physicality will be matched by more centers. Very high energy.

Pre-draft workout with the Blazers |
GSW Position: C/PF
Highs: can guard centers, has a veteran presence to him, a strong nba body build already, strong in opponents body to get to the rim, good footwork, a vet decent free throw shooter for his position and size, goes well against bigger bodies when trying to get a bucket at the rim most of the time, very mobile
Lows: not a shooter, will have to have a shot in the NBA, undersized to guard centers all the time, rebounds can be better at times but pretty well
Strengths:
High BBIQ
Great Rim Protector
Athletic
Good Rebounder
Weaknesses:
Poor Shooter
Bad Ball-Handler
Not a Great Finisher for a Big Man
Player Comparison: Robert Williams
STRENGTHS:
One of the most athletic players in this class; legitimately jumps out of the gym and demonstrated that as a legit lob threat and rim runner. He has secure hands to be able to catch in traffic in those situations
Bigger frame for his height (6'8") and is a deterrent at the rim; averaged two blocks and a steal per game last season and showed enough versatility to play high on P&Rs
A very good rebounder who makes his mark in the areas where big men are supposed to; a 14% rebounding percentage is very good and can be a threat on either side of the court on the glass
WEAKNESSES:
Not a play finisher outside of the paint; does not have the requisite versatility as a finisher outside of layups and lobs and does not space the floor out at all
Has a turnover issue when he is asked to be an offensive hub; not a very good dribble hand-off or kick out guy at all
Has a hard time processing defensive coverages and can force the issue if he is close enough to the basket
Best role upon entering the NBA: A vertical lob threat who will explode as a lob threat and as a rim protecter
Player Comparison: Shades of Daniel Gafford and Bismack Biyombo
Pros:
Very strong
Athletic
Decent finisher
Shown signs of a developing shot
Cons:
Limited game in the half-court
Needs to continue developing ball skill
Raw
Mould/role: Athletic interior big
Player Comp: Rob Williams III lite
Tier: 5
Pros: Good size/strength. Lob threat. Good paint D-Blocks +. FT % is mid but I like the form. Good length use in layups. Back to basket could definitely be great in the future.
Cons: Still very raw leads to some game learning mistakes. No 3 ball which sucks. Passing is not a strength. Perimeter D isn't a big deal but not great.
Range: Anywhere in the 2nd-return. Age: Solid age. Aura: 3/10 Paint Can
Notes: One of those African physical specimen. A year back might hurt him though, I say go to the draft.
Brian Wright, please. This man could defend a team of 5 Jesus clones. Can he do much else? I’m not sure. But my golly I want to find out.
Theres a reasonable question to ask in my methodology along the lines of my ability to separate the ‘fun to watch’ from the ‘has an nba future’.
He’s big and all over the place. I trust he can learn to do more. But then again, I never did. Best wishes kid.
Award: Usman Garuba I’m sorry for what Houston did to you
