The more I think about Kispert, the less impressed I am. His release is a lot slower that you would think, really limiting his ability to get shots off. Also, the best ability in these pure shooters (besides shooting) is their ability to run across screens at a really high rate and not need their feet set. Kispert just cant do that. He’s got the shooting, but I worry that is all he has.

Corey Kispert may have had a tough NCAA tournament, but he''s still a top prospect. He can come off screens and shoot the ball with ease. He doesn''t have the quickest release (although pretty quick), but I like his ability to flat out shoot, cut, and drive to the basket. He should be ready from Day 1, as he is a senior though his ceiling is much lower than some prospects. Also has some other intriguing skills besides his shooting: nice passing IQ and deserves credit for some of the best transition scoring in the draft.

Projected draft range: 11-20

C&S MARKSMAN. Very little dribbling in his game. Won''t finish well agains NBA defenses, longer defenses will easily alter his finishes or just outright block them. Adequate passer who rarely turns the ball over, due in part to not being an active dribbler and knowing his role as a shooter. Mediocre closing out, not that he lacks the length but foot speed on rotations is a concern. Does not lack defensive effort, but will have a tough time defending the perimeter at the next level with his lateral quickness.

Corey has one of the best 3-point shooting percentage ever (49% from 3). I want him to become a star but he has been getting injured and some night he will shoot about 6 threes and make em. Other nights he will be 0-12. Fun Fact: He actually went 1-10 from 3 in his second Gonzaga season.

Krisper had some problems in some games, but should still be drafted high. I'm not a big fan of him, he needs to be able to get his shots off faster and he isn't a good enough defender. Risky pick, he Is also old but I think he will be in the lottery

Positives

-An ELITE shooting prospect (44% on 6 attempts from 3), very quick and consistent release with good footwork and balance, showed upside to shoot beyond the 3 point line, great feel for relocation to the open spot, capable of hitting 3s off a few dribbles, definitely has upside as a movement shooter

-A great transition weapon, one of the best in CBB last season, mostly makes the right read, can get to the rim but is also great as a trailer

-A solid finisher at the rim, can attack closeouts when chased off the line, understands driving angles well and uses his body, underrated vertical leaper, has a solid floater/hook shot in his arsenal, smart cutter and finisher off-ball

-Decent at making quick decisions which Zaga's offense required him to do, finds the open man using his gravity in the half court and in transition

Negatives

-Not a good point-of-attack defender, subpar foot speed, lack of explosiveness and a neutral wingspan, will probably struggle guarding guards and quicker wings in the NBA, good drivers cook him and he has a tendency to give room to guards because of it which lets them fire away from deep, solid team defender who competes and can make an impact but probably will be a negative overall

-Not a self creator at all right now, his handle is pretty limited and he doesn't have the shake/wiggle for isolation scoring, has some struggles shooting off the dribble jumpers when chased off the line

-Limited ceiling player, teams know that he is a smart off-ball player and a great floor spacer, but very unlikely that he becomes any sort of creator

-Had some problems with turnovers in the PnR and when he got stopped in the mid range, teams will definitely force him to be a passer instead of a scorer

Likely range: 7-15

Gonna be a Doug McBuckets (Doug McDermott) or Joe Harris style player. Will be a good and reliable player in the league for years.

Maybe I am too hard on Kispert. Or maybe I''m the only dude that notices Kispert comparative to other pro prospects... Kispert plays hard and is among the best NCAAM players out there. Gonzaga is the #1 team. But against the toughest competition he has faced vs opponents who are prospects he is outplayed. It takes Gonzaga a true group effort to win games. Kispert can shoot the ball well and is a wise player. He is one of the oldest prospects in this draft and he isn''t an elite athlete. His basketball smarts are what make him a legit prospect. But his ceiling is Wally Sczerbiak.
