Jerrua was a nice defensive player in the backcourt for Houston last season. While there are some tweaks that need to be made to his shot, he looks like a dude who will hustle and do anything to win. A good rebounder for his size and a solid playmaker and can play both guard positions for an NBA team.

Projected draft range: 55-undrafted

Height 6'5 Weight 185 lbs Wingspan 6'7

Offense

  • Got a little wiggle and versatility. Can score, or facilitate.

  • Doesn't get to the free throw line.

  • While 3P shooting volume increased, his shooting percentages 34 3p% and 70 FT% leave much more to be desired.

  • C&S abilities are improved.

  • Athleticism is questionable.

Defense

  • Will be where he makes his bread. Tremendous closeout defender and against P&R ball handler.

  • Above average against isolation and off-screens.

  • Plus rebounder for his position.

  • Potential defensive versatility for 1-3.

Swing Factors

  • Athleticism - Hip fluidity, lateral movement, burst to the basket, strength. Where does this stack up? Necessary for his game to grow in the NBA.

  • Shooting - Can he lock in as a dependable C&S shooter? Is there potential for his off-dribble shooting?

Role

  • A defensive specialist guard learning to operate offensively in the NBA.

  • LOW: Athleticism and lack of an offensive identity stunt him from touching the NBA hardwood, he goes overseas to find his identity on the offensive side of the ball.

  • HIGH: Defensively Jarreau is as effective as his defensive potential showed at Houston. He hits C&S opportunities and begins to develop facilitation ability finding a reserve role.

Jaden Ivey

Ivey has superb athleticism, and amazing defense. Very quick hands and good reaction. That translates super well into steals. He locks down everyone with his great on-ball defense. He reads passing lanes really well. He’s very good at driving and is powerful. He’s not such a great shooter, however. He’s currently a sophomore at Purdue, rather than a freshman like most of these guys. He wasn’t super consistent at starting, but that should change this year. His 3 point percentage at Purdue was a measly 25% and his PPG in 24 minutes per game was 11.1.
