Jaquori is an older prospect, but one with legitimate deep shooting equity, all while being a solid playmaker. He is one of the best shooters in the class, and while he wasn’t asked to do a lot of passing on his team seeing as he was far and away the go to option, he showed some solid flashes. His defense is very iffy and I’m not buying his first step much at all, he’s an intriguing combo guard prospect.

Comparison: Milwaukee George Hill

Mclaughin is a big guard with some range. Shooting 41 percent from three, he is an impressive shooter although being old like Corey Kispert. Jaquori also can score off the dribble and can play on or off the ball, with fairly good playmaking skills. Whether he's asked to run the show on offense or play more of an off-ball role, Mclaughin can do both, although is defense needs more work and he doesn't have a great first step to get past defenders. Will probably be used as a shooter off the bench.

Projected draft range: 50-undrafted

RANK

Height 6'4 Wingspan Unknown, Estimated 6'6-6'7

Offense

  • A smooth stroke albeit average speed release.

  • Crafty and intelligent passer who takes good care of the ball.

  • C&S killer. 1.43 PPP on no dribble jumpers, top 7%

  • Formidable P&R ball handler

  • Complementary initiator with off-ball capabilities?

  • Athleticism attacking at the NBA level seems suspect, not a great space creator.

Defense

  • Lateral quickness is suspect. It seems to be a struggle for him to get down into a correct defensive stance.

  • Closeouts look okay.

  • Effort is there, but who will he guard?

Swing Factors

  • Defensive ability - Won't be able to guard mid-large wings, or shifty point guards. Can he garner enough lateral quickness to find a comfortable role defensively?

  • Finishing & attacking - This is likely make or break for him. His shooting will be at least average or better, but can he translate his P&R ballhandler, initiator skills to the NBA?

Role

  • A complimentary off-ball guard with good C&S skills who can operate as a secondary initiator in spurts.

  • LOW As a tweener guard with no stand out skills McLaughlin takes his talents overseas carving out a nice career as a combo-guard.

  • HIGH A mid bench rotational piece and working his tail off to be a competent defender, McLaughlin proves he can attack as a secondary P&R ballhandler in spurts while primarily serving as a C&S threat.
