START OF TIER 5

This guy is getting drafted where he is because of Villanova. They make good basketball players and have for quite a long time. This guy is smart, hustles and simply plays the right way. If the shot starts to fall he is making it big. Either way, this guy will not bust. Too high of an IQ, too good at everything else. Also should be known I 100% trust his three point shot due to the stroke, free throws and midrange

Comparison: Robert Horry, rockets version

Ceiling: PJ washington ++, Tobias Harris Mold

Floor: Saddiq Bey

Robinson-Earl has his holes: he''s not an interior defensive big and isn''t a floor spacer, but he has a high IQ and can score in the inside. He needs to rebound a bit more, but he can play as a nice small ball five who can play offense and run the pick and roll easily while making the right play every time down the court. Also can really bang inside and score and took on a 1st option role this season, so when you ask him to score, he may be able to fit the bill.

Projected draft range: 35-50

Height 6'9 Weight 242 lbs Wingspan 6'10 DOB Nov 3, 2000 (20 years old) Pre-Draft Team Villanova (So)

Offense

  • Solid physical presence, but not a great athlete.

  • Shows a developing game from all three levels.

  • Will score over smaller matchups, shoot mid range jumpers, and can hit open 3's.

  • He has a nice looking overall stroke. His 30% 3pt and career 77% FT show promises as a C&S prospect. Best in corners.

  • Has decent vision out of the face-up game and can put the ball on the deck to attack.

  • Technically sound with great footwork going to the basket, and on catch and finish.

  • Just versatile, could be used as a P&R finisher or PNP shooter.

  • Working post game that he can be asked to utilize.

  • Awareness as a passer and some potential here inside and out.

  • Can score at multiple levels, but not a shot creator.

Defense

  • Played more on the perimeter this year cutting into his rebounding totals a bit. Should be a plus rebounder at the next level.

  • Good mobility, great stance for a big allowing him to be a positive defender on switches.

  • His defensive engagement and technique is HIGHLY encouraging.

  • Knows how to use verticality to cut down on fouls and effect the shot.

  • Nice awareness coming over for weak side help.

  • Needs to stay grounded.

Swing Factors

  • Shooting Consistency - Appears to have the tools to be a positive perimeter shooter. We need to see it, otherwise he's a skilled player with limited value. Would be nice if he sured up his mid-range game as well.

  • Defensive Versatility - While his technique, footwork and engagement all grade out as a major strengths, still not certain his foot speed and hip fluidity can handle the perimeter. How realistic is it that he protects the rim in more than just spurts? Is he more of a good team defender and less versatile than originally thought?

Role

  • A skilled tactician on both ends of the floor who can be asked to mold into a multitude of roles.

  • LOW: None of Robinson-Earl's skills pan out as elite or very good. He is used as a versatile energy wing/big hybrid near the end of a rotation.

  • HIGH: Robinson-Earl quickly proves to be the jack of all trades and a coaches dream molding in to any role on any given night. He finishes, shoots, passes, defends the perimeter, interior, and rebounds all when appropriate. Having a knack for being the team's swiss army knife Jeremiah gains a starting role as Mr. Reliable.

Has pretty good potential and will be a solid role player. Good forward could be similar to a Miles Bridges or PJ Washington.

Positives

-Very fundamentally sound player, finds the open space to cut, uses his strength, good roller, everything he does is calculated

-Was really good in the high and low post (low post won't be used much in the NBA), likes to face up and either shoot a jumper, take it to the rim or use his vision to find a cutter or a shooter, high IQ and feel for the game here

-Good, impactful defender that can switch and guard all 5 positions to some extents, limited laterally but positioning is elite, makes the right rotations off-ball and though not a good shot blocker, uses verticality well to protect the rim

Negatives

-Limited athlete, doesn't have much explosion so he needs to play smart on offense, defensively he gets blown by if his positioning isn't great, an explosive guard like James Bouknight got by him in a straight line a few times

-Struggled as a shooter, mechanics are solid, he just didn't hit them, best from the corners

-Not much of a self creator, his upside isn't much but you know what you're getting with him

Likely range: 20-40

Good shooting range for his size. Nice overall skills. Not the best athlete, but pretty good strength. A true stretch 4 in the game today.

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl who is also known as JRE had an amazing sophomore year. JRE 16 points and shared the Big East player of the year award. Ever since the season started his draft stock just continued to rise. Most people think he is just a 3 and D guy but I think he can drop 25 when you need him to and guard the best player on the opposing team really well.

Brings all the qualities teams look for in a high-end role player with his intelligence, feel, and unselfishness.

PLUSES

Versatile defender with the strength and size to handle bigger players and the lateral quickness to comfortably switch onto smaller ones. He has excellent technique, staying in his stance and reading opponents’ moves to contain dribble penetration.

Savvy off-ball defender who rotates well and communicates.

Skilled at attacking closeouts and getting to the rim. Contact doesn’t bother him in the paint.

Flashes shot-creation upside but he needs to improve his pull-up jumper. At this stage, he already has smooth footwork closer to the rim. Now he needs to expand it outward.

Great cutter and off-ball mover who can relocate behind the arc to get open for 3s.

Versatile player in the half court who can operate from all over—spotting up on the perimeter, being active on the baseline or in the low post, or setting screens for a pick-and-roll.

Good passer who can be trusted to make the right play from all areas of the court.

Excellent rebounder for his position who constantly hustles.

MINUSES Streaky shooter who struggles to convert when contested. He’s also better from a standstill and not much of a movement shooter.

Lacks above-average athleticism, which hurts him as an interior defender.

He’s sometimes too active of an on-ball defender and falls out of position in one-on-one situations, leading opponents to blow by him.

Player Comp= Chuma Okeke, Grant WIlliams
