RANK

Like every kid growing up in the 2000s playing hoops, Jordan Schakel idolized Kobe growing up. He realized that more realistictly he could be like a Klay Thompson, and look where he is now. A 40 percent three point shooter and a 90 percent free throw shooter, Schakel modeled his release after Klay, high and quick. He can also shoot from the mid range, and although not the best finisher, he really is a nice ofc ball mover. Ask not the most gifted defender, but can contest shots and gives solid effort overall.

Projected draft range: 50-undrafted

RANK

Height 6'6 Weight 200 lbs *Wingspan Unknown

Offense

  • Infallible shooting stroke. 46 3p% on 8.8 ATT per 40 & 91 FT%

  • 1.394 PPP on Spot Up ranks him in top 2% and accounted for 31% of his offense. An immediate C&S killer anywhere on the planet.

  • Also very good coming off screens for his shot.

  • Competent transition player as a ballhandler.

  • No playmaking, but also rarely turns over the ball.

Defense

  • Handles himself fairly well defensively thanks in large part to good closeouts.

  • Could be an average defender against P&R ball handler, and off-screen.

  • Shouldn't ever be in ISO against a talented shot creator, otherwise he will be eaten up.

Swing Factors

  • Defense - Can he work out as a competent team defender or is he going to be head hunted? If it's the former every NBA team would love a shooter of his caliber.

Role

  • Plain and simple 3pt marksman.

  • LOW: Athletically he can't defend in the NBA. He goes overseas to torch nets.

  • HIGH: He can defend in spurts as a competent team defender. His shooting career continues as nothing short of remarkable and he always has a spot in somebody's rotation.
