A guy that is really hard not to like. He hustles really hard on both ends, which is evidenced in his rebounding numbers. He has a developing jump shot and passing ability on one end, and a really strong defensive presence on the other. He is an older prospect, and a bit smaller than a few of the centers surrounding him in this big board. Still really like him, his hustle seems to be contagious

Comparison: Paul Millsap esque

Ceiling: Al Horford with + rebounding Floor: Moses Brown -

Moses Wright has terrific skills has a 6-9 forward, he can shoot the rock,,rack up offensive rebounds, steals and blocks but can struggle to guard players on the perimeter and can be reluctant to take outside shots and needs to improve his free throw. He played good on the offensive end at the NBA combine, but was blown by by quicker players, and his defense continues to hold him back.

Projected draft range: 2nd round

Height 6'9 Wingspan 7'0

Offense

  • Good to very good leaper and athlete.

  • Nice fit in the dunkers spot. Quick to finish his opportunities.

  • Improved perimeter shooting and potential - 12/29 from 3 & 66 FT% last year. 14/84 3pt & 57 FT% the previous three seasons.

  • Even with the improvement, still a below average FT shooter.

  • Athletic and mobile enough to attack off the dribble.

  • Good passer from the high post, elbows. Hugely improved AST totals and AST/TO ratio last year.

  • Good offensive rebounder.

Defense

  • Above average shot blocker.

  • Decent rebounder.

  • Good recovery skills, but his agility may be a liability in PNR.

  • Does a nice job against post-ups, makes it tough to impose will on him here.

  • Average perimeter mobility.

Swing Factors

  • Finding a niche skill that can keep him on the floor.

  • Perimeter Shooting - He must be able to floor space effectively.

  • PNR Defense - If this is a weakness then what is the benefit of playing him?

Role

  • An offensively skilled big with mobility and spring.

LOW: An absolute tweener who has no defined role or skill allowing him to stay on the floor. He excels greatly in no areas, and has liabilities in others.

HIGH: A rotational piece as a floor spacer who creates extra possessions with offensive rebounds, can be used in the dunker spot to keep defenses honest, and has the versatility to find cutters for assists or drive to the hoop on slower matchups. Defensively he protects the rim in spurts and collects some blocks.

Moses Wright is the ACC player of the year. Had he been playing in the tournament during the first round, Georgia Tech may have had a better chance at winning at least the 1st round game. Still no guarantee though.
