Damian is my absolute favorite player and I don't want to see him go, but I can't see Neil digging himself out of this mess he's created. Here's why I think this may work:

Portland does it because the writing is on the wall. Get younger, get a boat load of picks, maximize Dame's current value, and look to the future. I would then go find trades for CJ, Roco, and Nurk. Would also see who/what would be available for Wiggins as well. If no good move is available, we keep him and see if we can continue to raise his stock. Rolling out a team of young guys (Ant, Nas, Maxey, Wiseman, and whoever we draft with those picks would be fun to watch!)

GS is giving up a lot, but Simmons could play at center for them and they also get to pair the Curry brothers. (Who wouldn't want to see that?!) I know the rumors are GS wanting Dame or Beal, but I don't love Dame's fit on their team. They would be fun to watch, but it would be tough to trot out two point guards and Klay Thompson. If Klay had never been injured, this might be a different story.

Philly does it for obvious reasons. This raises their ceiling big time. Two top 7 ish MVP candidates this past season gives them a strong foundation.

I know 5 picks sounds crazy, but Dame is locked in for 4 years. He is worth that package. I just don't know if I need to send a little more to GS or not? Roast away.
