Portland can sign a max player if they trade Simons or Nurkic/Little. If they can get Harden to Portland, there will not be many minutes for Simons with Scoot also in town. This allows Portland to compete for a championship while not selling out their future. Is this is championship roster? Healthy and with a little luck I don’t think anyone would be too surprised. PG- Dame SG- Harden SF- Sharpe PF- Grant C- Nurkic Bench- Scoot, Bol, Suggs, Watford There’s no glaring holes and the young energy from the bench can help them as the season gets deeper. I’m not sure if Harden puts them over the top, but if they can add depth as they clear space for Harden it will have them in the conversation, which is all Dame seems to want. The Blazers know if they trade Scoot, they could be looking at another MJ/KD situation. Finding a way to keep Dame seems to be priority 1, but keeping Scoot has to be just as important, and if they are dead set on keeping Dame then Simons will have to be the odd man out to make room for a bigger superstar.
