So the Blazers and Lakers are looking for ways to retool for next year and I think this is a good way to do so. I also think the Pacers have room to get better with this trade because they get a boost on offense with CJ and they have Carlisle as the new coach, and they move on from Sabonis. This is just my opinion but I think its easier to build a team with Turner instead of Sabonis. Obviously Turner isn't the centerpiece of the team but as a piece he is worth more to the Pacers than Sabonis. Sabonis is a back to the basket player who takes up a lot of space on the floor and an offense run by rick carlisle doesn't complement his game. So adding scoring guards like CJ and Simons. The Lakers don't have a ton of flexibility for signings so their free agency should consist of signing the players they want to keep like McLemore and Caruso and then signing Schroder. If you're the Lakers you kind of have to resign Schroder because you aren't going to be able to afford Lowry and you can't trade for a better one either. They also get Nurkic which is a center who can pass and shoot a little. And we all know how thirsty LA is for centers bc AD doesn't want to play the 5. For Portland, Sabonis moves to the 5 which is a better position for him, his defensive liabilities are hidden more because he is more focused on rim protecting and guarding centers as opposed to power forwards. They also get Kuzma from the Lakers which depending on your view could be good or bad. Personally, I think Kuzma as a role player is pretty good. He can shoot, he can rebound, and he can defend. Obviously his star potential is pretty much gone but with Kuzma in a confined role he can contribute. They also get Justin Holiday from Indy who can score and play defense off the bench. Signing Norman Powell to be the starting 2 ups our defense as well. In Free Agency we can sign Noel, Porter, and Patty Mills. Patty gives a reliable backup option at PG and Noel can come in and defend if Sabonis is giving up too many points. Overall I think this gives flexibilty to Indy and gives Portland and Lakers better chances at competing.

New Pacers: Brogdon - CJ - TJ - Milsap - Turner Bench: Holiday - Simons - lamb - Oshae - Bitadze

New Blazers: Dame - Powell - Kuzma - Covington - Sabonis Bench: Mills - Holiday - Little - Porter Jr. - Noel

Lakers: Schroder - Levert - Lebron - Davis - Nurkic Bench: Caruso - McLemore - McKinnie - Morris - Gasol
