Namaste again to all nba fans here... My last post after much thought I decided that it was a bit foolish the reviews also support that... So after lots of thinking during free time, I figured out the perfect team ( in my opinion)which the celtics can have.... I will tell you the source...
About 10 years ago a movie in India named nayak starring Indian Bollywood star Anil Kapoor was released... It's a story about a news reporter who is concerned about his nation and he becomes chief minister for one day when the current chief minister of that movie challenges him... The public like him and decide to make him the CM... Leave the story... The crucial part which I found out was that in a scene he appointed two ministers for each ministry.. one energetic youth and the other experienced old... I thought, why can't we apply this to our team... Also the main thing which we are focusing at or which the celtics should focus is " minimum budget maximum potential"..
Let's come to the point....
So I will be considering three teams inside the Celtics... The first team( our starters) , our second team ( a mix of veterans and primary players those who have had more than 5 years experience) and our third team( the set of potential rookies)
Let's consider each position...
Point guard.... (A) Right now other than Marcus Smart we don't have a good point guard.... So let's check.... I found Dejounte Murray in spurs which will have potential in defense of our team... So for getting Murray it would be brilliant if we resign Evan Fournier and trade him to the spurs... In this way Murray having 15.5 PPG will be a supplementary scorer as well as a brilliant defender... In this way the spurs will have a game creating Evan and with the signing of Andre Drummond the spurs can recap their defense once again... Which effectively means that if they sign Drummond there's not much change in their team.... So this trade can be a great thing for both sides.... Also in the small forward position Keldon Johnson would require some support and backup so I would also recommend the spurs to sign Kelly Oubre Jr.... So the starting five would be Derrick White(PG), Evan Fournier (SG), Kelly Oubre/ Keldon Johnson (SF), Jakob Poeltl/ Devin Vassell (PF, if they agree, otherwise trade Devin Vassell to the thunder for Isaiah Roby( 8 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 1.8 APG) and Andre Drummond (C)... The spurs have a huge cap impact in this but I feel that it's worth it... I am not bullying the spurs, I respect all nba teams but I like Boston Celtics.... Drummond and Jakob can also power up the defense of the spurs.... (B) I mentioned Murray as a supporting scorer but we still don't have a scoring point guard..... So we have to find someone who can average 20 points per game... And I found Shai gilgeous Alexander..... I don't want OKC to go down further as they are rebuilding so I will include the Cavs also in this.... Straight deal- Celtics get Shai, OKC gets sexton and the Cavs get Romeo Langford, Thompson and an unprotected first round pick of 2024 and a lottery protected first round pick of 2027... OKC saves the Celtics by giving us second round picks for 2027 and 2024.... I think for the Cavs this might be enough.... For OKC if they sign richaun Holmes or Jarrett Allen they will have a good team to go... Holmes and Allen can put points as well as rebounds and they are still young so OKC can get a primary rebuild... If OKC signs Jarrett Allen for a 30 mil dollar contract their starting five will be Kemba walker, Collin Sexton, Luguentz Dort, Darius Bazley and Jarrett Allen ... For the Cavs if they sign Kyle Lowry and if Love averages at least 16 PPG like he did in his all star days, the Cavs can get a good rebuild.. Also , if the Cavs get Mo Bamba from the Orlando magic for Lamar Stevenson and Larry Nance Jr they can have a good team... For the Cavs their starting five will be Kyle Lowry, Darius Garland, Taurean Prince/ Cedi Osman, Kevin Love and Mo Bamba.... For the third team of Celtics we have Carsen Edwards... If we comes back to his Purdue days he will be unstoppable....
Shooting guard- As of now we don't have any shortage of shooting guards and we don't need to sign anyone either.... We have Jaylen Brown for the first team, Marcus Smart for the second team and Payton Pritchard for the rookie team... So no issues with the shooting guard...
Small forward... This is an important position.... I will keep Jayson Tatum as the small forward in the first team and Aaron Nesmith in our rookie team... We have a missing small forward as a mentor and support to JT... That's where we get a brilliant veteran - Carmelo Anthony... His cap was held by Portland, he's 36 but still can average double figures has and has tons of experience.... So signing him would create a good support for JT..... I would recommend signing Carmelo for a total of 16 million dollars over two years.... So the small forward is done....
Power forward.... Another important but vacant position in the Celtics lineup is Power forward.... For this position most of the NBA fans would recommend DeMar Derozan... I also thought about it... But we have to look at the budget also.... DeMar will settle only for contracts worth at least 100 million if for 3-4 years, which he deserves... So I am leaving Derozan alone... So according to the budget the best player we can have in this position is John Collins... An energetic youth player who can average 17 PPG.... so signing John Collins to a 1 year contract worth 18 million will help the Celtics a lot this year... For the secondary team, I would sign 2020 6th player of the year Montrezl Harrell, but since we don't know whether the Lakers would release him or not, I would recommend getting the out-of-form Kyle Kuzma for Tristan Thompson... If they don't agree resign semi ojeleye and trade him also( I was thinking to give up grant Williams but then I noticed that the general statistics of semi and grant are almost same).... For the rookie team we have Jabari Parker and Grant Williams...
Center- The Celtics don't have any shortage for centers... We have Al Horford, Moses Brown and Robert Williams.... So no issues there
Now, why am I suggesting this trade.... Don't we want Bradley Beal next season.. these will be the questions which I will receive...that's exactly why I signed these players....
Look, I signed John Collins for a one year contract of 18 mil... So next year he becomes a free agent... So Shai with PG, Beal with SG, Jaylen Brown with SF , JT with PF and Horford with center.... Also signing Carmelo, john and Dejounte makes it about 50 million 2021 which will be reduce to 31 in 2021 this gives immense flexibility in the cap value for Boston... After his contract we will give Shai an extension he deserves of about 46 million dollars over 2 years I.e 22 mil for each year because he deserves it.... He averages almost 25 points per game approximately.... In case if Shai is not ready to stay in Boston , we sign and trade him to the Wizards for beal... The main movie behind this is so that Beal doesn't become a hated player like Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving... But the problem in this is that beal would have to okay the point guard position.... In this case we would have to extend the contract of John Collins.... In both ways it benefits Boston a lot....
