They get the toxicity of Simmons off their team and by association, sadly, get rid of Maxey. It also does suck to lose one of the greatest shooters right now in Curry. However, they will acquire a superstar, for Embiid, in Lillard, so they aren’t that bummed out. Covington also fills up the void defensively that Simmons left behind.

++Why the Trail Blazers do this?++

The Lillard trade request is inevitable at this point. However, since they still want to compete and will still have great talent on the team. They will retool instead of rebuild. Acquiring Wiggins is a great fit on the team and a perfect player next to McCollum. White will also be a nice piece on or off the bench, to take the load off McCollum and Powell. They also get a nice young player in Maxey to get a "fresh" start and become their future franchise PG. Eubanks and picks make the value about equal to the value of Lillard.

++Why the Warriors do this?++

They need to choose the present or the future. I believe they should choose the present because a player like Curry, is a once in a generation talent. Giving up Kuminga, Wiseman, and a future first means absolutely nothing to the team, if they become a better team to contend in the West. Adding Simmons is perfect next to the Splash Bros. Klay will definitely still be a great shooter, but defensively he will probably never be the same, that's where Simmons' defensive abilities come into play. They also acquire Poeltl, who is an underrated big man, to become this team's new and better Bogut. Plus adding the other Curry is just the cherry on top because playing with his brother will be great publicity and basketball to watch, and will also keep at least one shooter on the court with Simmons at all times.

++Why the Spurs do this?++

They exchange their older, but still young and great starters/role players for more younger and higher potential players in Kuminga and Wiseman. It's a youth movement in San Antonio, and Wiseman and Kuminga just fit. Next to Pop, the sky's the limit for both of them and the whole Spurs team in general.
