Trade Deadline is coming up, and while the Bulls and Hawks have been rumored to be big sellers and the Knicks to be a buyer, I don’t know if I’ve heard any buzz regarding Demar DeRozan. He sneakily has been going under the radar this trade deadline, and the Bulls haven’t landed on extension talks with him…

So, in this scenario, the Knicks trade for DeMar to be that extra scoring/shot creating punch whether it be on the bench or in Crunch Time, Demar would be a perfect guy for the Knicks, because he can create his own shot, whilst being an underrated passer. His defense isn’t quite what Tom Thibodeau typically looks for, but I believe with buy-in, he could help out.

For the Hawks, they get a more versatile center in Vucevic, and a young, defensive minded guard in Grimes. Gives Atlanta some different options around Trae and gives Vucevic + Grimes an opportunity to play alongside a Point Guard who will always set them up well.

For the Bulls, this trade is meant for getting off contracts and getting younger. Demar as an expiring contract won’t get much draft capital, but since the Knicks have a ton of picks, you’re essentially getting the Knick’s own 2025 First Rounder with light protections (but given how good the Knicks are, should convey), as well as a 2025 2nd round pick via Brooklyn (which could be EXTREMELY VALUABLE next year). And with the contracts of Fournier and Capela, the Bulls get more cap flexibility, and give some different options headjng into the offseason to build around Coby White.

Kind of a wild trade idea, and maybe won’t happen come Thursday…but what do you think?
