They barely have enough assets to move Beal at all, certainly not to move him and have another team absorb his contract to get them below the 2nd apron. This trade was created to see if there was a way...

Detroit get some much needed outside shooting for Cade on a decent, expiring contract, a late first in this year's draft plus future second to give up a first. Since being traded to the Bull's, Heurter has started getting 3's to fall.

Kings get their second back to take on an expiring low contract in a position they need. This is probably an overpay, they likely take him for free.

Bulls get Beal, one real first (Detroit) with two fake ones (Phoenix) and a (likely) upgrade to their second round pick this year.

Phoenix gets a young wing who is the prototype they need (40% 3pt shooting, 6'8 guy who can guard 2-5 and doesn't need the ball) and get below the 2nd apron. They'd be able to aggregate players again and finally make some more moves continuing to build around Booker and KD.
