The Mavericks realise the clock is ticking and with Doncic's stellar MVP form, they decide they are not messing around vying for a Championship and pull the trigger, giving up some draft capital for a great centre who does not come about often. They come into the trade with a do-it-now, think later and build around the team further in the offseason.

The Timberwolves on the other hand has realised the Towns-Gobert experiment is not working and decide to get some draft capital, free up some 6 years of supermax money and get back to work around building young superstar Anthony Edwards.

Imagine Doncic and Towns tho? Next coming of Shaq and Kobe! The only reason this doesn't work is Town's extension has made us wait another 6 months for this to hypothetically happen. Just a little bit of fun but I genuinely think it is a fair trade.
