This is what I believe would happen in the unlikely scenario that the Mavs blow it up. ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Why Dallas do it: They have their pick top 10 protected for the next two seasons and by trading Luka and Kyrie will get a ton of young players to pair with Hardy, Green and Lively. They'll have a young core ready to contend in a couple seasons already.
Rotation: CJ McCollum/Jaden Hardy │ Tyler Herro/Tim Hardaway Jr. │ Josh Green/Grant Williams │ Trey Murphy III/Maxi Kleber │ Dereck Lively II/Larry Nance Jr.
─
Why New Orleans do it: They get a top 5 player in basketball and pair it with a future MVP and another All-Star. It's a no brainer.
Rotation: Luka Doncic/Jose Alvarado │ Brandon Ingram/Jordan Hawkins │ Herbert Jones/Jaime Jacquez Jr. │ Zion Williamson/Naji Marshall │ Jonas Valanciunas/Richaun Holmes
─
Why Miami do it: They have had the worst offseason of any team in the NBA, but trading for Kyrie for a relatively cheap price and also getting a shooter alongside three All-Stars while getting rid of Robinson's contact would make it a lot better.
Rotation: Kyrie Irving/Kyle Lowry │ Buddy Hield/Kendrick Nunn (signed in FA) │ Caleb Martin/Josh Richardson │ Jimmy Butler/Kevin Love │ Bam Adebayo/Thomas Bryant
─
Why Indiana do it: They give up Hield who asked for a trade for another shooter, a young prospect and a first.
Rotation: Tyrese Haliburton/TJ MCConnell │ Bennedict Mathurin/Andrew Nembhard │ Bruce Brown/Aaron Nesmith │ Jarace Walker/Obi Toppin │ Myles Turner/Isaiah Jackson
