Why OKC do it:

1. They use Bertans contract in a center that's young, have a huge upside and is on a cheap 3-year deal

2. They have all the time in the world, so can be cautios about Timelord while having the advantage of buying him low

3. Timelord fits with Chet and he's fine coming off the bench also

Why POR do it:

1. Don't risk Timelord's injuries to happen anymore

2. Get a good quantity of seconds spread over different years

3. Bertans can be kept for salary matching purpose or he's on a partially non-guaranteed deal that could be waived
