Why do the Nuggets do it? This trade only really goes through if the Nuggets are worried about Murray's injury and if he will recover to full form. They don't throw in much draft capital at all and get off of Monte Morris's contract as well.

Why do the 76ers do it? Harden has been a failure for Philly and Harris is on a horrible deal. Powell could be good in the right role and Jamal Murray, contrary to Harden, is a proven playoff performer. They also get a variety of roleplayers, vaulting them into true contending status while keeping Embiid and Maxey.

Why do the Clippers do it? The Clippers get a borderline All-Star with minimal injury history while keeping most of their core and giving up no draft picks. All they have to give up is a few minor role players.

Why do the Jazz do it? People seem to think that Utah would keep Mitchell and trade Gobert, but if I were the Jazz GM I would do the opposite. However, all signs point to a Gobert trade this summer. The Jazz get several solid roleplayers, including a solid, young replacement center in Zubac. They also get a ton of draft capital and are rebuilding on the fly.

Why do the Mavericks do it? The Mavericks get Gobert while keeping most of their main players, although they do have to give up major draft capital. But, if they continue to lose embarrasingly to the Warriors, a second All-Star caliber player will be needed alongside Doncic and that is the role of Gobert.
