Knicks select a prospect with all their picks to fill the roster with players that fit and can help the team in the near future, as well as minimize the team’s salary expenditures as they become a financially hard-capped team.
24th: DaRon Holmes (6’10”, PF/C, 21 yrs old) - Potentially could replace Robinson in the future as a backup C. Has a versatile, all-around skillset as a big man. Ability to space the floor, defend, rebound, handle the ball, and playmake at the 5.
25th: Ryan Dunn (6’7”, SF/PF, 21 yrs old) - May spend most of his rookie season in the G-League as he develops his offensive game. His elite defense and explosive athleticism is a rare skillset that can’t be taught and once he adds at least a league average 3pt shot, he will become a very valuable and lethal rotation piece for this team.
38th: Baylor Scheierman (6’7, SF/SG, 24 yrs old) - An older prospect who can potentially contribute to the team right away. Will be smart to acquire an NBA ready player from the draft to fill the roster at a cheap minimum salary, as opposed to signing much older, more expensive veterans from free agency.
Do Knicks fans agree with the pick selections? Are they realistic?
