Crazy 3 team blockbuster: Knicks get Spida and Bridges, Nets get Allen and Bogdanovic, Cavs get Randle and DFS

SUCCESS

There are definitely so many reasons why this will never happen. The long Knicks-Nets rivalry and history of never doing trades for one. And obviously the amount of picks in this deal will be up for debate. But this could end up being a pretty solid deal for everyone (although I'm not going to deny that this is probably best for the Knicks).

Knicks: The Knicks finally bring Donovan Mitchell Home and reunites the Nova championship team. I truly believe this would make the Knicks contenders. They'd have Brunson, a true 1-A player running the show, while having OG and Bridges to be lockdown defenders and 3 point threats. This season may have shown that Bridges isn't the foundational piece that the Nets hoped he'd be but he's still a great defender who's improved his on-ball and passing skills and has shown that he can be effective as an offensive weapon and an off-ball threat. The vibes would also be immaculate with Brunson, DDV, Hart and Bridges on the same team (you'd hope the Knicks could sign Arcidiacono to a minimum or two way deal as well). The Knicks also bring in Donovan Mitchell who has reportedly wanted to play for the Knicks for quite some time. He's been incredible for the Cavs and has kept them in the upper tiers of the East playoff race despite injuries to Garland and Mobley. With this lineup, the concerns about an undersized backcourt of Brunson and Mitchell could be minimized because they'd have 2 elite wing defenders in OG and Bridges and Robinson anchoring the defense. You'd still have a bench that has Deuce, DDV, Hart and hopefully Hartenstein and Achiuwa if the Knicks can somehow keep them. The Knicks could also send more second rounders and I'd still be happy with this.

Nets: The Nets are in a tough space as they'd hoped to take more of a step forward this year and don't own any of their own picks for the foreseeable future. This trade sees them reunite with Jarrett Allen who replaces Claxton who the Nets could lose in free agency (sadly for the Nets this is looking more likely as he's due for a payday and is prioritizing being on a winning team) and get Bogdanovic who's a solid veteran but is mainly here for salary purposes. The real prize is the FRPs and unfortunately for the Nets, the price for Bridges has gone down since the trade deadline.

Cavaliers: The Cavs are in a similar situation where Mitchell hasn't signed an extension and they risk losing him after next season. They've also lost some leverage and will see his trade value decrease as teams will know this. Still, they get Randle, a two time All-Star and all-NBA player and DFS, a solid 2 way wing to replace him. They lose Allen but I'm not sure that the two big system has truly worked for them and Randle can bring more gravity to offense that Allen did and is a great passer. They also get several FRPs to make more moves as well.
