These can be carried out as two separate deals, but I think this could be a general plan to revamp the Lakers.
Starting Lineup: Rozier, Matthews, Lebron, PJ, Davis Bench: Russ, Reaves, Walker, Gabriel, Bryant
Great improvement in 3 point shooting in the starting lineup overall, with solid defense and versatility from Matthews and PJ.
I think the Lakers could seriously consider this trade as you would really only be losing Schroeder one FRP and one SRP to fulfill most all of the teams needs. PJ Washington is a player I think the Lakers should seriously go after because he can fill the 3 and D forward role and has showed great success playing small ball 5 if AD goes out again. His versatility on both sides of the floor cannot be understated. Matthews is a great catch and shoot + movement shooter, plus he has shown to be able to hold his own defensively. At 6'5/6'6, he matches up well with most wings. He immediately becomes our best perimeter defender. Rozier is the exact type of guard that thrives next to Lebron. Rozier can create his own shot but doesn't need the ball be effective. His three point shooting accuracy and volume is something the Lakers are in dire need of. As a closing lineup there isn't a single player opposing teams would be comfortable leaving open.
Personally, I think upgrading the PG position is an issue that isn't talked about often. I'm in favor of keeping Russ because he has been able to shift the momentum of games with his off the bench energy. He has great chemistry with AD, but he shouldn't be the closing PG of a close game. On the other hand Schroeder has great value for his contract, but doesn't really fit team needs. He is great at keeping the offense moving, but isn't a knock down 3 point shooter or a reliable defender. Therefore he should be considered expendable.
Additionally, Rozier, PJ, and Matthews are all fairly young, and could be complimentary pieces or flipped to other teams if the Lakers decide to go in a different direction moving forward.
