Agbaji could fit in the 3 and D role as a starter over max, or coming off the bench. He's having a career year, but it remains to be seen if this is for real. He's still young, and I think he has the framework for a player who could pair perfectly next to Reaves. He's a guy who can hit open threes, runs a ton in transition, and holds his own defensively. Not very flashy, but could fill a ton of holes on this roster.

Sexton fills the need for another primary ball handler and scorer. While he doesn't shoot as many threes as Dlo, he is way more consistent, and competes on defense. I still wouldn't prefer pairing him next to Reaves a ton since I think their skillsets would somewhat overlap and neither player is a particularly strong defender. He's always been a very high level scorer and I could see him being the most efficient pair next to a strong defender like Agbaji or Christie.

Poeltl gives us our much needed big man. I have concerns pairing him next to AD or Vando because of his in…

I wish the Lakers had an extra srp to throw in this trade, but from what I've seen, they cannot trade the 2027 srp bc of some restrictions pertaining to the 2027 frp trade to the Jazz.

Starters: Reaves, Max, DFS, Lebron, AD Bench: PG Mitchell, SG Knecht/Milton, SF Reddish, PF Vando/Boucher, C Poeltl

The Lakers lose two rotation players in Rui and Gabe, but I think they fill all of the remaining roster needs. Mitchell seems to be built in the same mold as Vincent, but seems more tenacious and athletic while being a bit younger and probably a better passer/ball handler. Boucher can fill most of the Vando minutes while he comes back from injury, and I could see him being an incredibly important piece. Boucher could play some small ball center in certain lineups, and I could envision him playing next to AD and Lebron similar to how DFS fits currently. Lastly, Poeltl is the bruising big that can give us a scoring, defensive and rebounding punch off the bench or next to AD when going up ag…

Possible Lakers Lineup: Starters: Reaves, Christie, DFS, Lebron, AD Bench: Dlo, Knecht, Vando, Ziaire, Sharpe

I like this trade for the Lakers, because even though they will be giving up quite a bit they will be receiving two young players in Ziaire and Sharpe.

I don't think the Rui or Gabe contracts are bad enough to warrant a FRP going to the Bulls, and I wonder if the Nets would give up three players for one FRP. I think each Nets player fetches a few second round picks on their own, but perhaps they'd prefer to consolidate those assets into one very valuable FRP from the Lakers.

From the Laker's perspective I still think they'd need one more move involving JHS, and the Christian Wood contract to get a starting caliber 3 and D guard. Ideally you move Christie to the bench, and assume Vando doesn't come back any time soon….

Proposed Starting Lineup: Reaves, Brown, LBJ, Stewart, AD Bench Unit: Schroder, Max, Knecht, DFS, Sharpe

I'm in favor of trading both first round picks for very high level role players and depth rather than going after another star. In my opinion the Lakers will always have the allure of attracting another star in free agency, and currently I don't think there is someone out there who the Lakers can acquire with just two FRP's who will fix most of their needs.

I think with simply the Nets trade you meet most of the Lakers needs. Bench PG to replace DLO, 3 and D wing, and true big who can rebound. I think what will take the Lakers over the top are to add a versatile floor spacing big to pair next to AD, and a POA defender to cover Reaves.

The lineup versatility with this roster would allow Redick to get pretty creative. You could a bunch of shooters out there with Reaves, Knecht, DFS, LBJ, and Stewart; or you could put together a defensive dynamo with Schroder, Brown, DFS, Stewart, …
