I see this as two trades in one.

Brunson and Burke for Robinson and Walker. Knicks get the guy they want and Mavs get an upgrade at center, Burke and Walker are mainly for salary, but also Kemba would be more useful for Mavs.

Hardaway, Powell, and #26 for Randle and #11. This allows Knicks to get off of Randles contract. He is getting paid $26 million for 4 years, while Powell’s $11 million only has one year left and Hardaways $19 million has 3 years left, and each year of THJs contract the amount decreases. This will give New York room to sign other guys or give players extensions. Why do Mavs do this? Understand that Randle isn’t the biggest trade target these days…. I’m sure Knicks fans understand that better than me though. I would guess he is seen as a negative asset similar to Porzingis. Mavs may like to trade up after dealing Brunson, so this deal would get that done. Knicks get JB and get off of Randles contract and in exchange give Mavs Robinson and swap #11 for #26.
