The Pelicans have a ton of assets, and they cash some of them in here to get a nice connector piece in Bridges. It is clear the Pels greatly value long, rangy 2-way wings, and they get a great one here to match with a new starting lineup of McCollum-Bridges-Ingram-Zion-Valanciunas with Murphy/Jones/Marshall/Alvarado/etc off the bench.

The Mavericks get in on the trade to take on two of the older role players on this team to help facilitate the deal, pickup up some needed wing depth with DFS and Nance. The Mavs may lose DJJ in the offseason, so replacing his defense could be critically important, and the decline of Kleber means a new option is needed for the 4 spot who can play small ball 5.

The Nets here move Bridges for a nice combination of young players and picks, and also clear some longer-term salary off the books.
