It's no secret that the Pistons have had quite a few rough years in a row. This has led to them being able to add quite a few very talented players to their roster via high draft picks. Unfortunately, that hasn't led to very many wins. The main reason for this is that they are one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA. Detroit allows the 5th most points per game and forces the 5th fewest turnovers per game.

How do they fix this problem? Let me introduce you to Ron Holland. Holland is an elite defensive prospect due to his athleticism, size, strength, and mobility. Holland still needs some refinement to become a true lock down defender, but right now he already forces tons of turnovers. While playing for the G League Ignite this year, Holland averaged 2.5 steals and just under a block per game.

Holland has tons of upside offensively as well, but he is still very much a work in progress on that side of the ball. He is a terror in transition but can struggle at times in the halfcourt if his shot isn't falling. He will greatly benefit from playing alongside a playmaker like Cade Cunningham. It will allow him to start his career as a high level play finisher while the rest of his game is still developing.
