Why do the Spurs do this?

The Spurs are one of the worst teams in the league and have an opportunity to gain Ivey, and Ivey could have a chance to restart. Ivey gets a chance to start over in San Antonio, where he can be a playmaker for the Spurs and a secondary/third scoring option. Ivey would easily be the best guard in San Antonio, he would thrive with having someone like Wemby to play with.

Why do the Pistons do this?

Devin Vassell, Gary Harris, and Bertans all can provide the foundation pieces of Cade, Ausar, and Duren spacing. Having Vassell on the Pistons would put a positive shooter in the guard position next to Cade, creating a starting lineup of Cade, Devin, Ausar, Bojan, and Duren. At the same time, the Ceiling on Ivey, the fit next to Cade with Vassell opens more opportunities for Cade to do his thing as we saw with Atlanta on Monday.

Why does the Magic do this?

To gain draft capital and outside shooting around Paulo. Dougie Mcbuckets is a career 41% shooter, who can provide the magic with consistent shooting.

Why do the Thunder do this?

Gain an experienced shooter in Alec Burks, who had an excellent start to the season, and can get back to shooting 40%. OKC could use a backup big man if they want to make a serious playoff run, who could fill a similar role to Bobby Portis in Milwaukee. Bagley can stretch the floor around Shai, and provide instant offense off the bench for cheap
