The Colts are looking to add competition at all positions, but specifically at QB. So, who would be a good option for the Colts to bring in to create this competition? Sam Darnold is an interesting player, but imo if they bring him in that signals they are moving on from AR. Fields is another option but imo I see him returning to Pittsburgh. Who would you want the colts to add to create competition for Richardson? If you think someone not listed please comment who you think….

This is somewhat related to the Luka trade. That trade may not be a one off.

Some say the Mavs traded Luka so that he wouldn’t be eligible for the super max on his next contract. I think this is going to be the new trend. Teams trading top stars so they can avoid to pay outrageous super max salaries but get good returns for their star players. I think that is going to become the new norm. But that begs the question… who are the next stars to receive this treatment??

I think Trae Young, Ja Morant, and Tyler Herro are 3 players that could be traded this summer or next season, so their teams avoid their next contracts….

Who are your picks for the major awards so far this season?

There is no budget so pick your true favorite at each position. These are my top 3 choices and favorites at each award. If you want to comment your top 3 at each award that’s fine.

MVP- It’s a 2 man race this year. It very well may be Shai due to Jokic MVP fatigue, but Jokic is putting up yet another historic run this year. How each team finishes will be a factor and it truly could go either way.

DPOTY- It’s a one man race, Wemby is the guy and could win it every year for the next 5 years truly.

MIP- Norman Powell will be on most people’s top choices, but IMO his skill has always been there. He’s just got more of an opportunity now that he’s starting, PG is gone, and the roster hasn’t been all that healthy (Kawhi). The true MIP should be Murphy imo but Hunter and Herro have turned it up this season too and are also 2 true candidates.

I don’t think the Pacers will make any major moves before the deadline just for the simple fact of their winning stretch they’ve been on and with them moving up to 4th in the East. But something like this would be an option I think would work for everyone…

Warriors have made calls surrounding LeBron & Paul George. They also have high interest in Zion and Lamelo and will most likely make calls. Regardless, Warriors seem primed and ready to make a move(s) by the deadline….

Do the Lakers also move on from LeBron now that they’ve brought in Luka? Now you may say, “no, they brought him in to help LeBron win a chip with the Laker”, and that is a possible answer. But… imo if you do this sort of trade, you are changing the entire direction of your franchise. I think this is a direction change for the lakers who now have a young coach and now have paired that young coach with a young superstar. I see them trading majority of their older players and following their new direction….
