Player Comparison- LSU Ben Simmons

Best fit: 76ers (ironically) or Miami Heat

This may sound like a hot take, but I have Flagg’s comparison as LSU Ben Simmons. And I think the stats are closer than people realize. (LSU Simmons was a dog so this isn’t a slight to Flagg by any means)

Cooper Flagg Duke Stats: 18.7ppg 7.5rpg 4.1apg 48%FG 36%3PT

Ben Simmons LSU stats: 19.2ppg 11.8 rpg 4.8apg 56%FG 33%3PT

Cooper Flagg is a defensive player who can rebound and has good passing ability and is comfortable with the ball in his hands. He’s showing a lot of potential right now, especially if he gets his shooting percentages up, but I hope he translates to the NBA well. My biggest fear is he doesn’t translate and is used wrong… similar to that of Ben Simmons. Many forget that at LSU Ben Simmons was a PF… NOT a PG. The 76ers didn’t know how to utilize him so they turned him into a PG which then derailed the entire rest of his game. I think Flagg will be utilized better. I don’t think he will ever be a #1 scoring option but I think he can definitely become a more efficient scorer around 20ppg.
