A relatively complete prospect, I can see why Flagg is considered the number one prospect in the class of 2025. He’s not the generational talent some people hype him up to be, but he’s extremely solid nonetheless and I imagine he would compete for Rookie of the Year had he been in the 2024 class. I’m seeing a lot of the features I like: shining under pressure both in college and the US Select Team, not forcing bad plays, and overall high IQ. His physical tools are solid (he moves very well but not going to jump out of the gym) but not the main affair for his defensive dominance. He reads offenses like a book and always knows where to be. Field goal percentage is a bit troubling and the eye test confirms he needs to work on that, but overall a very solid player who looks poised to have a long NBA career.

Comparisons: I’ve seen some folks say Tatum which I don’t love, Pippen has also been mentioned which is a much more accurate comparison for Flagg.

Hello! Last year I did not get to do the analysis I wanted to but this year I want to do at least as much as I did with the 2023 class and build educated opinions on the prospects. This year I want to rely more on full game film (aka, watching live) when possible. In 2023 my analysis was very highlight-based, leading to overhyping some players such as Brice Sensabaugh. The current board (0.0.1) only has analysis on Flagg. The guys who do not have analysis are ranked purely on media, and are subject to drastic change. Mock drafts will likely begin around Christmastime as the standings shape up.

UPDATE LOG:

0.0 (21 Nov 2024): Initial thoughts before watching any prospects, no individual analysis. Super uneducated on the class right now

0.0.1 (25 Nov 2024): Added some preliminary analysis on Flagg.
