The Wizards have been terrible the past few years. They have had multiple 10+ games where they haven't won. They recently brought in some veterans to help them win more and to teach the young guys good habits. In this trade, they bring in a guy who, when healthy, can win them a few games.

The Wizards have a lot of young guys who need somebody to teach them good skills and habits. Dwight Powell has been in the league for over a decade and has picked up some good habits himself. He can teach them a lot of good thing to help them become more mature when it comes to navigating the life of an NBA player. But Zion is the meat-and-potatoes of this trade. He gives them an electric scorer who can score almost at will. He gives you a slasher who can rebound, pass, and throw down lobs.
