Energy is off the charts. Brown is great at crashing the glass offensively. Constantly puts pressure on interior defenders because of it.
Handle is shaky. Tends to try and do too much with the ball when he gets it. He’ll have a LOT of avoidable turnovers just by overdribbling.
Similar to handle, his shot needs a lot of work. Right now he has a low release point and shoot it basically in front of his face. He has the size and mobility of a self-creator, but his ball skills just are super raw. Shot okay from 3 percentage-wise, but the form isn’t encouraging and he could’ve done better from the FT line.
Massive lob threat. Literally the best dunker I’ve seen at this level since Zion and he’s probably better. He’s an MPG (Momentum Gaining Player). He isn’t afraid of confrontation at the rim and if he connects he’ll let you know about it. He reminds me of Marcus smart a bit with his attitude. It’ll cost you at times (he had some dumb technicals and he wears his emotions on his sleeve), but overally it’s a pretty fun thing to watch. I’d rather try to settle the fire than start the fire.
There were some concerns about his attitude toward the end of the year. He had some meltdown in the Big 12 tournament over playing time and then his minutes were drastically reduced following that, BUT from what I’ve seen on the court his energy is and effort is awesome.
Instinctual cutter. Always looking for the lob. This also helps with his offensive rebounding.
Really sound defender. He’ll have some moments where he’s too aggressive and gets called for stupid fouls, but overall he moves his feet really well, he’s physical, and his length helps him impact shots. He’s a better version of Paul Reed in this sense. I came away amazed at his defensive potential.
Also a great shot blocker. As one of the best vertical athletes in the Draft, Brown uses his length really well to swat the shit out of these shots. He’s not really a center either, so he could be devastating as a weakside rim protector.
Showed decent off-ball instincts as well. Had some freshman mistakes, but I liked his awareness for the most part. It’s gonna come down to his offensive game catching up to his defense.
