Little bit higher on Springer this time around. His poise is super impressive; he always knows where he and his teammates should be. His defense will translate right away, can guard 1-2.5 pretty instantly. He lacks elite pop on offense, which is his swing skill, but if that ends up going his way this dude has starting point guard on championship team blueprint. Excited to see his development.

Jaden Springer is a big 6-4 combo guard who can score from all three levels and pass. He has great athleticism for his position and can score the ball well. I''m worried about his pull up J and don''t think he''ll be solid in the pick and roll, but the impressive thing is his driving. His 6-4, 204 lb. frame should allow him to hold his own defensively. Legit versatality and his youth and catch and shoot game should allow him to have a high floor and a high ceiling as well as a freakish athlete. Definite explosion that was hid at Tennessee due to a tweaked ankle.

Projected draft range: Late Lottery-30

6''4 with a reported 6''6 wingspan. Attacker of the basket. Not explosive on tape, but high effort and IQ shows up. Moves well without the ball and a great cutter. Will waste no time over dribbling. Seems like someone who will work well in a system offense. Has to get stronger with the ball, can lose his position and momentum to attack by being bullied on his dribbling. Very good rebounder and will get balls out of his zone. Strange little hitch in his shot going up but doesn''t appear to affect results. Follow through looks high and smooth. 13 of 24 on 3pt shots thus far as well as a mid 70s FT% with 6+ att per 40. Highly active defensively and very energetic on closeouts. Great team defender. 2 STL per 40. Defensive footwork is a work in progress, will bite on pump fakes and get beat as a result. Because he isn''t as laterally quick he will have to perfect footwork.

Tier 6 Floor - out of rotation Bullseye - productive combo guard, key rotation player Ceiling - 2-way key starter, core piece

2-way combo guard with a strong base, who is athletic but isn't fast. Shot 43% from three but didn't shoot high volume. Plays at his own pace.

I watched Jaden Springer and he is a beast. With amazing defense and good playmaking and shooting, He will be a star in no time.

Excellent defender, not good offensively. Needs to become a better passer and keep the defense and could be like a Patrick beverly without a 3 or a Marcus Smart (would be ideal for him). Solid role player potential though

Positives

-A solid athlete, his size, pure strength and physicality make him very intriguing, especially considering his age

-Defense is the best part of his game, size, strength and lateral quickness make him a potentially switchable defender 1-3, players struggled posting him up, very active hands, has good instincts for ripping the ball away, high effort on D, an aware help defender

-Uses his strong frame to get to the rim, a very physical driver, loves the jump stop and usually finishes off 2 feet, used a short pull up jumper instead of a floater as a counter, overall a solid finisher

-At his best as a scorer in transition, this is where the jump stop is especially effective

-His playmaking is the best off drives making reads, wrap-arounds, dump-offs, lobs, good drive and kick potential, looks up in transition, very rewarding to shooters who run the floor, capable in the PnR though we had a limited sample

-Very low volume but shot 43% from 3 and 81% from the line, has been improving since high school, mostly a catch and shoot guy right now

-One of the youngest players in the draft (will barely be 19 by next season), expected to be raw but the upside is there

Negatives

-Not really a shot creator right now, can''t consistently create separation and takes questionable shots as a result, when cut off, often settled for a tough contested inefficient pull up, mediocre first step

-Part of his struggles is his handle, not very creative, looked kind of stiff and couldn''t consistently create an advantage easily, showed flashes but a lot to work on

-His jumping off 2 feet tendency had moments where it made looks at the rim tougher than they needed to be, will probably get gameplanned out of this shot in the league and need to adjust

-Decision making still not great at times but this is a part of his game that should improve with reps

-Despite great indicators, he didn''t look extremely confident in his jumper and hesitated on some open ones, especially when teams made it a point to let him shoot it, will be a big swing factor for him in the league

Likely range: 10-20

Good long range shooter who can also attack the basket. Not afraid to attack the basket and often makes a good play that results in a score doing so. He is a good but not great athlete. His game has some holes, but for an 18 year old kid he can play really well and is on a winner. Springer made the SEC All Freshman team. Although Tennessee was upset in the field of 64 early by Oregon State, it was not due to lack of talent. Springer and company just have to many players playing the same positions or out of position playing them all together.
