A big trade reliant on the Knicks deciding to cash in a load of picks but rather than chase a singular star the Knicks instead buy into premium young pieces.

Atlanta: Whilst Trae Young has been the guard everyone believes Atlanta is shopping. In this deal Atlanta move Dejounte Murray, they get back Levert, Finney-Smith and picks and continue trying to find their perfect balance on a path back to eastern conference relevancy.

Cleveland: Cleveland gets worse from this deal without question but they receive a boatload of picks back and Ingram and Murray to try and recalibrate their roster and hopefully build a contender around their star Donovan Mitchell

New Orleans: NOLAs involvement in this is pretty minimal. They lose Ingram, they get Garland and they get a pick. Their log jam of versatile wings is cleared up and they add a point guard who they hope can be their key playmaker and floor general.

Brooklyn: The deal is weird for Brooklyn also, the asset return is not massive but they get Randle (an all star calibre player in the deal). The Nets are in a weird NBA purgatory, they're isn't really a path to contention for them out there but the incentive to bottom out doesn't exist because they don't have their own picks. In this deal they receive some picks, but also a solid if not inconsistent star who they'll hope they can push back into his All-Nba form and hopefully another even better asset haul.

New York: This is the most obvious. The Knicks have talked at nauseum about an all in push, whilst this trade doesn't bring Giannis, Embiid or Mitchell to New York what it brings is a bevy of great players who all fit Thibs system and make the Knicks a deeper more versatile team. Strus is a very solid rotation 3 and D wing as this series with the Celtics has shown, Bridges is one of the best defensive players in the league, and Jarrett Allen is a great and continually improving rim protector. This trade would cement Jalen Brunson as the face of this Knick team and give him and Thibs an unbelievably deep 9 man rotation to go to battle in the East with.
