This trade gives the Kings a starting lineup of Fox/Herro/Bey/Grant/Sabonis and Schroder/Mitchell/Livers/Metu/Holmes for solid bench depth. None of their key players would be particularly old and so they would have a pretty long contention window. While it's quite possible this team wouldn’t be enough to win it all, making the playoffs many years in a row would probably be enough for Kings fans.

For the Mavericks they’re essentially replacing Davis Bertans and Spencer Dinwiddle with Eric Gordon and Harrison Barnes which is certainly an upgrade.

The Pistons get to pick twice in the top 5 by sending out Grant, Bey and a few other minor players. This is great for building around Cade.

The Heat seemed reluctant to give Duncan Robinson much playing time in the playoffs, Dinwiddle would be a more than adequate replacement and he’s proven he can show up in the playoffs. Herro hasn’t shown much in the playoffs so by trading him away their team can become super deep by acquiring Cory Joseph, Terrance Davis and Trey Lyles who are all solid guys off the bench.

The Rockets probably wouldn’t mind flipping Eric Gordon for a first, second and whatever they're able to flip Duncan Robinson for.
