The Bulls have tried hard and it looks like this core of Lavine, Vucevic, and Derozan isn't going to make much noise in the eastern conference. So while it feels like this team has just been created and never was healthy, the stories coming out the locker room and vucevic's free agency might lead to a blow-up of the roster sooner rather than later. This trade for the bulls allows them to gain an influx of young talent on their roster, as well as many veterans who can be flipped for more assets going forward. They also gain a decent amount of first-round picks in the next 4 years for assets they probably can't get much on.

The Kings have been much better than anyone expected this year, but Harrison Barnes is a free agent this offseason and this team while a top seed in the west, is viewed as a first-round exit. This trade sees them push for a more established star to add to Sabonis and Fox in Demar Derozan. They also add Andre Drummond who is a consistent rebounder and big body down low. _ The Magic have a ton of young talent but their guards are all shaky as consistent scorers. Here they trade for an elite scoring guard who isn't that old to play with their core and keep their own first-round pick that will probably be a top 5 pick. They send some of their more depth young pieces to the bulls, as well as the bulls pick back to them to add Lavine to Banchero, Wagner, Fultz, Isaac, and Wendel Carter Jr. Not a bad core. _ The Jazz look a lot more competitive and are a lot better than expected this year than people thought they would be, so they take a flier on Lonzo Ball to fit next to Lauri and other pieces on their team. His injury history has made him extremely questionable, but he is still young and viewed as an elite defender/ playmaker. They sacrifice two future seconds to add him but get a sooner second while also taking a flier on him. If he returns to form they buy him low, if his injury messes up his future they probably get a better draft position on their picks and can get out of his contract soon.
