Before you comment: I’m aware the Pacers probably need more here, and I’m wondering what it is and where it should come from (leave insight in replies)
WHY TEAMS DO IT:
Sixers: Very obvious reasons
Hawks: Need to condense assets before extensions are due, need more perimeter defense next to Trae and a facilitator for when Trae sits right now. Josh Green and Shake Milton are also solid pieces that could crack a playoff rotation this season.
Rockets: Two fantastic prospects in Jalen J and Sharife, a former G League MVP and enticing team defender in Paul Reed, and picks. This helps their tank now and sets them up with more high end outcomes for the future.
Pacers: The Pacers admittedly probably need more. Springer is a fantastic prospect who has some Brogdon-level production as a realistic outcome, but much of the league seems to be lower on him than draft Twitter.
Mavericks: Mavs miss Seth Curry in a bad way, and need some win-now 3&D guys of Danny Green’s caliber
