I think people are struggling to understand just how much value the 3rd pick and Ant Simons have. With Jayden Brown rumours continuously circulating, and the Heat being 2-0 up on then (as of 21/05/2023), Portland could be the perfect home for Brown….

Blazers

Not only does this trade gives Portland its 2nd star, it gives them Poetl on a sign and trade who would be the perfect defensive anchor and rebounder. Portland after this trade would not only have an excellent core but they would also have strong depth in Reddish, Thybille, Nassir Little… with a couple pick ups in FA like Seth Curry and Alex Len, I really think this would give Portland the best chance.

Celtics

Now, I’m sure seeing this Celtic fans are instantly thinking NO, we don’t wanna trade Brown, BUT, this is an excellent return. They get Ant Simons who can actually playmake and run the PG position. More importantly, they get Siakam who would fit in excellently to this team - with the Celtics being such contenders, Siakam would most likely resign following the trade.

Raptors

The Raptors get depth in Derrick White, and Grant Williams whose shooting will certainly be valued in Toronto. But, that 3rd pick of likely Brandon Miller will be so important. Him and Scottie Barnes are the start of an incredible core. This trade still allows Toronto to trade OG later down the line in which they’ll likely get 2-3 picks for. The Raptors with this core wouldn’t be too bad, however, their ceiling and number of assets will give Toronto a lot to be excited about.
