The Hornets just locked in the second overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and I believe that Scoot Henderson is still the favorite to go #2. I think that in order to develop him properly however, it would result in a trade with Terry Rozier, because I don't like the idea of both of them fighting for minutes. And instead, why not trade away more big contracts like Oubre and Martin? We would also be recieving the Number 10 pick from Dallas, and more young rotational players like Davion Mitchell, Edmund Summer, and veterans with great defense like Tim Hardaway and Dorian Finny-Smith. I feel like this trade is a win all four ways. And I will explain why in a minute.

Hornets Draft:

Scoot Henderson, #2

Emoni Bates, #10

Ricky Council, #34

Kobe Bufkin, #39

Trade Away the #41 pick to Dallas as an add to the Terry Rozier trade.

Hornets Starting Lineup:

Starters: LaMelo Ball, Scoot Henderson, Emoni Bates, Dorian Finney Smith, Mark Williams

Backups: Dennis Smith Jr., Davion Mitchell, Edmund Summer, Bryce McGowens, Tim Hardaway Jr., Gordon Hayward, P.J Washington, Nick Richards

Why The Nets Accept: The Nets Take a Borderline All-Star and a late first round pick for Edmund Summer,Dorian Finney Smith, and two second round picks. I believe this trade would be made for the Nets because they need that solid star beside Mikal Bridges, and Nic Claxton. I think they need another facilitating leader in Kelly Oubre. I feel like this move would be a solid move for Brooklyn, and begins a potential play in berth for them.

Why The Mavericks Accept: The Mavericks trade away their #10 pick which may be questionable, but this way, they still stay as a strong team. With their new backcourt in Luka Doncic and Terry Rozier. They also won't have to worry about resigning Kyrie Irving this way, I think they also like the idea of getting a first round pick in the future.

Why The Kings Accept: Why not? They get a role player for 2 second round picks, its a solid move.
