This is an interesting deal I thought of. The clippers without Kawhi have a lots of guys who can score, or create or play defense but the only one who can constantly do all three is PG. Barnes can do all three as well (at a significantly lower level) and just came off a top 5 season of his statically and would provide this clippers boat with another paddle as they weather this Kawhi-less storm of a season.

The issues I see is that I’m not sure that the kings move him at least not until we get closer to the deadline. We lack wings and he’s still under a good contract for next year but if the kings perform like the kings tend to then this front office should try to move him when he’s his most valuable which would be during the season. Plus he just dropped 36 in an impressive outing against the blazers so the fan in me doesn’t really want to part with him at this moment.

The clippers also are tough to make trades for as I don’t see them wanting to part with Bledsoe or Morris before Kawhi comes back and I don’t see them wanting to move Mann period so I didn’t add him in this trade.

Regardless the scenario in my head is the kings aren’t in playoff contention and this deal goes down at the deadline with the young player in Keon Johnson and the future pick being the sweeteners for Sacramento
