We all know who the first overall pick is going to be. At this point the only remaining questions are: 1. Who wins the lottery and 2. Is there any scenario in which someone is able to piece together a king's random to trade into the first pick. Victor Wembanyama is arguably the best prospect in the history of this league; certainly the most unique. At a massive 7'5" he has smooth guard skills, a silky jumper, every offensive move you've seen plus a couple you haven't (one footed running threes?), elite shot blocking and the agility and movement ability to move and guard in space to a certain degree. Injuries are really the only real concern for me here, you always worry about someone as big as him and the lower body injuries that can manifest. Detroit would be a really interesting spot for Wemby to land for a few reason. First and foremost, a core of Cade, Jaden Ivey and Wemby would instantly be a top 2 or 3 most intriguing core in the NBA. The other kicker here is the collection of bigs that Detroit already has. Bagley is a rehab project that still hasn't shown much to hope for but Wiseman has suddenly shown a lot of promise since the deadline move. Duren has been as advertised as a rookie in terms of interior presence on both ends and don't forget about Isaiah Stewart who has outperformed expectations for Detroit really since they drafted him a few years ago. None of this is anywhere near enough reason to not draft Wemby but it does create the opportunity to explore trades and/or massive and unique lineup combinations.
