WHY PISTONS
With the players that the Pistons are rumored to be interested in such as Markkanen, Devin Booker, Dejounte Murray,Mikal Bridges, Darius Garland etc., they need more ammo. Robert Williams when healthy is a superb bench piece playing the center position and can make Stewart expendable in order to fill out the roster even more. With 60 million to spend in free agency, this trade can give the Pistons some range. For instance, if they trade Stew, that's another 15 mil off the books and they can sign Claxton or even Hartstein. If need be they could start Williams at the expense of adding a true co-star or two with Cade. Duren and Ausar have HIGH potential but Markanen is a highly gifted player. He is a willing and improving defender and a nearly unguardable 7-footer who can play anywhere from SF-Center. He's a dangerous co-star to pair with Cade Cunningham.
From here I would trade Stew for a pick and low-cost player to fill out the roster, resign Fontecchio (who I think would be a great Hedo Turkoglu type of 6th man), and dare I say it, I'd strongly consider Miles Bridges and even DeAngelo Russell...After that, I'd go over the cap to extend Markanen and go ahead and knock out Cade's extension as well.
A trio of Cade, Bridges, and Markanen is dangerous sounding. I can only imagine the alley-oops. Losing Duren is bearable when you consider having Lauri and I think we all can only hope that Ausar's prime could be Miles Bridges. Look at this as a head start.
