This might be a reasonable trade for Portland since Giddey is currently undervalued and Robert Williams is out for the season with an injury. OKC will be gambling on Williams' recovery from injury and being injury prone while also adding their own 2025 first round pick and two second round picks to help facilitate Portland's rebuild.

Ideally, Williams should rehab into second half of 24-25 (next) season then get limited minutes with the first team and eventually load manage until the playoffs. If OKC gets at least 2 good seasons with timelord I'm fine with losing out on Giddey and his potential rise. I don't believe in his 3 point shot, and his defensive abilities feel too limited. But who knows 🤷.

If OKC can have Timelord support Chet against Jokic, Embiid, Kat, Bam, Valanciunas, Giannis, Sengun, Zubac, Looney, Brook Lopez, then I'm in it! If Williams recovery goes well you can load manage his minutes throughout his contract and develop his replacement from the upcoming draft for the remainder of his contract. Then have his replacement take over once his contract is over.
