Mostly an exercise in trying to create future cap space to the wolves while keeping them competitive & adding some promising young players and solid veterans that better align with their young core comprised of Ant, Naz, McDaniels, Miller, & NAW.

Are the Knicks end up with the best starting five in basketball, including the best floor stretching big in the history of the NBA to help create acres of space for Jalen Brunson and (acquired in this trade) Zion Williamson.

The Nets get off of Ben Simmons contract, bolster their defense and are built to contend for at least a top six spot in the competitive Eastern conference.

The Pelicans and the keys of the office over to Brandon Ingram, and add one of the best young defensive centers in the league and a solid veteran power forward who is still in his prime. Plus 1st round picks.

The Magic add another floor spacing/versatile big & a top notch young defensive center along with the first round pick. Sending out the super promising Jalen Suggs and injury cursed Jonathan Isaac.

I admit, I am an incredibly biased Timberwolves fan, so I’m not the best judge how fans in front offices of other teams judge their own rosters/players. Well, I think this might be fair, I assume many of you who look at this hypothetical trade will adamantly disagree w/ my assessment. Which is incredibly understandable.

I am interested in feedback, not as much about the players being added to the roster of your favorite team; far more interested in learning how you value the players being sent out.

Obviously, this trade was born out of frustration from a maddening Timberwolves lost to a subpar Chicago Bulls team, in which MInnesota blew a 23 point third-quarter lead.

Wolves fans, I’m sure most of you will hate this trade. I’m looking at the ability to create future cap flexibility while being able to stay competitive in the present. This trade will allow Minnesota use the mid-level exception and the taxpayers exception. With Ben Simmons contract coming off the books after next season.
