Why It Makes Sense...

Nets: KAT age wise and skill wise fits perfectly. He can be a #1 option on offense and slide into his natural position at the 5. He gives the Nets offensive punch and creativity that the Nets need. Claxton is good, but he'll never be as skilled as KAT on the offensive end. KAT can be serviceable on defense with the right group/coaching around him. Nets get to offload Simmons and don't have to give up too many assets for the future. They can trade for another impact player if they want.

Mavericks: They badly need defense and Gobert provides that. He's on the decline, but he's still effective. Makes life for the defensively defunct backcourt a little easier on defense and he can cover a lot of mistakes.

Hornets: Add more depth and offload Hayward

Wolves: The future is Ant. KAT is a very good player, but he's not the guy in MN anymore. With Hayward on his last year, they'll have room to sign Mcdaniels to a big deal. The year after that, Simmons and Hardaway Jr will be done and they'll have cap space to sign a big FA to make a championship push in a perfect world. Ant and Mcdaniels remind me of a Jordan/Pippen combo. Albeit a poor one right now, but those 2 should be the building blocks for MN. Hopefully some of their young guys/picks can develop and grow together. Claxton is a perfect fit at the center position and fits age/skill wise. Hardaway and Hayward provide veteran presence and bolster the bench. Simmons is a risk, but could pay off. The sweetener is the 2 frp from the Nets so they restock some assets for the future.
