Excited to hear all the ways people hate this, but it makes sense from the right perspective.

Suns aren't keeping Ayton without giving him the max, in this scenario, they get an all star replacement who is 3 months older than Ayton locked in at 20M/yr. Kinda their best case scenario.

Kings want to add a starter using the 4th pick and have their eyes on Grant as a good fit next to Sabonis. In addition they swap RFAs from what appeared to be a flawed match with Donte to an idea 3 guard rotation with Fox/Mitchell/Sexton.

Pistons have their eye on Ayton to be their 2nd star next to Cade, Grant and moving from 5 to 14 seems like more than a fair price to lock in their franchise center.

If not readily apparent, I'm a Cavs fan, and made this fake trade with an eye to what's working in the postseason. We're not making it past the 2nd round with a nucleus which relies heavily on Sexton and Allen. They're useful regular season / make the playoffs guys, but this team should be aiming higher with Garland/Mobley in place. We use 4 on Ivey, 5 on Murray, Holmes slots in as a situational center when we want to play Mobley at the 4, Holiday/Craig are useful vets/expiring's for us to use if needed. It sets us up as the kind of roster that can compete in the modern postseason
