This is my off-season moves if I’m the GM of the Toronto Raptors.

I would sign either Monty Williams or Mark Jackson as head coach on a long term deal. I’m so sick of coaching overturn so unless it is a situational issue to do with fit, I wanna keep a guy around for a while and have faith in him, and his system.

I would draft either Scoot or Brandon Miller with 3, and have a starting lineup of the following: Simons, #3, OG, Scottie, Jakob. I’d want to tank for one more year for a solidified young core. I’d even arguably make an offer to Charlotte for #2 to ensure I get Scoot, as I’d suggest he’s a better fit on this squad than Miller.

The trades: The Siakam trade is simple, young promising Simons and #3 gets it done for me. Pascal is a superstar, but this trade is near undeniable in value, and immediately replaces Freddy’s production.

The Freddy trade is a bit complicated. There’s a few moving pieces but it basically works out to Freddy and a swap worst 2026 FRP to Suns, Cap filler and picks to Raps, and CP3 to Spurs. Spurs get a vet leader who will give Vic a legit teammate early in his career. Suns get a scoring guard who can be scrappy on D. Raptors get some compensation out of Freddy with the swap best in 2026, as well as the ability to make further moves with the 2 cap filler players.

The next trade is taking on the Bertrand contract for 3 role players, in exchange for a future FRP. The protections on this pick can vary based on your valuation but this is how I see it to be fair.

I would also re-sign both Jakob and Gary Trent Jr on relatively fair deals. I may need to pay more for both but I would be comfortable to do so as I see good value for the next 4 years on both players.

I’d sign Naz Reid in free agency as I see him to be a good value free agent for a potential 6th man scorer in the long term past his injury.

All in all, I think the raps should make a lot of changes. This is a really well orchestrated organisation and my fear is that because of that they hold on to everyone and settle for being mediocre. I think they should maximise value now instead of losing it later.
