If Detroit really wants to build a team around Cade and be a defensive first team, I think this is the way to do it. It would give Cade ample spacing, depth, and veteran talent while still keeping a good young core. My idea would be to build this team like the early 2010 Memphis Grizzlies with their stretched out playstyle and switchable defense.

TRADES FROM OTHER TEAMS PERSPECTIVES

Kings are trading Harrison Barnes, Davion Mitchell, and the projected 46th pick in the draft for Quinten Grimes as a salary dump. They're doing this so they have cap space to resign Malik Monk and possibly pick up a great rim protector in Nic Claxton. Grimes defends just as good if not better than Davion Mitchell and he also gives them some much needed size and toughness off the bench which is what they need.

Nets are trading Mikal Bridges for Jalen Duren and Jaden Ivey + the Kings 46th pick as compensation. Some people might not like this trade but Bridges is a all defensive player that can be that second option next to Cade. Nets finally start the rebuild by getting two solid young stars in Duren and Ivey who can come in and surround Cam Thomas with talent. Duren rebounds just as well as Claxton while Ivey is that athletic guard who can run the offense for the Nets and take pressure off of Thomas. I'm also referencing the OG Anunobly trade as to why the Pistons would do this.

SIGNINGS AND DRAFTS

Pistons are signing Jonas Valanciunas and resigning Fontecchio for 3 years $60 million and 4 years $50 million respectively. I'm assuming the Pistons would have to overpay for Jonas to come play for us which is why we're giving him one last large contract at age 31. He works really well next to Isaiah Stewart who would be our Zach Randolph type of stretch 4 and since Jonas can play with Zion I think they will be a great front court. Pistons are resigning Fontecchio for obvious reasons as a 3 and D wing off the bench.

In the draft the Pistons have 2 options, go for another wing or a center. Using the ladder, I would draft either Alex Sarr or Kyle Filipowski as stretch 5's who would benefit greatly from Jonas's mentorship (Partly why we signed him). They're both defense first centers and are solid passers as well like what Marc Gasol was for the Grizzlies. They would be the future center once Jonas starts to decline and would eventually take that starting center role after enough reps in the league.
